THESE ARE THE THEMES I TEACH AND WRITE ABOUT:
"A design attitude views each project as an opportunity for invention that includes a questioning of basic assumptions and a resolve to leave the world a better place than we found it”. Boland Jr and Collopy's concept is the central idea on my classes and lectures about social innovation: how can we use every opportunity to design a better world? What mechanisms are helping design a new social and sustainable paradigm?
We are living in a service-based economy, but in Brazil building a new service seams like an intuitive task. In my classes and lectures I show the importance of creating a service that is, “from the customer’s point of view, useful, profitable and desirable, while they are effective, efficient and different for the provider” (SDN). We start understanding users; their journeys and ends with a new service blueprint. I also show innovative services based on collaborative mindset and world’s primary needs.
How to start an urban transformation? Today's problems are so complex, making it difficult to imagine how we might have a positive influence. In my classes and lectures I show that there are many possibilities waiting to be experienced: new attitudes, new communication strategies and community interactions. The urban revolution comes from creative minds that not only see and create new opportunities, but also quickly prototype their ideas within the city.
